Pilates Clinic, LLC is owned by instructor Lou Anne Burns. Lou Anne studied ballet and dance for more than 10 years and was introduced to Pilates over 20 years ago as a part of that training to enhance her dance technique. A Wisconsin native, Lou Anne received her B.A. in Theater from the University of Wisconsin in 1993. After a move to Seattle in 1994, she discovered Pilates was a training and practice all of its own and began to pursue an in-depth study of the Pilates method. In 2005 she decided to make Pilates a full-time vocation and became an apprentice at Metropolitan Pilates in 2006 in the Romana's Pilates program under the guidance of master teacher trainer Dorothee VandeWalle. Lou Anne completed over 700 hours of comprehensive training and certified in 2007.

Lou Anne received her advanced seminar training from Romana Kryzanowska's daughter, Sari Mejia Santo. She has participated in continuing education with Alycea Ungaro, Jay Grimes, Peter Fiasca, Kathryn Ross-Nash, Mejo Wiggin, and Siri Dharma Galliano.

Lou Anne is eternally grateful to her mentor & inspiration Dorothee VandeWalle for setting her life on a "Pilates Path", and continues to study with Dorothee weekly.
